Topic: Disturbing function (Chapter 6 in book)

Homework for Thursday 9.29:

1.  If you haven't already done so, do the mercury6 problem of
simulating both Mercury by itself, and Mercury in the presence of a
circular Jupiter. What is Mercury's precession rate, and how does it
compare with the formula in the book?

2. Read section 6.9, up to equation 6.171

3. Skim* Lithwick & Wu 2011, equations 1-19, and 
Appendix A (http://adsabs.harvard.edu/abs/2011ApJ...739...31L). 

*note: by "skim", I mean to read through without deriving equations.  

You may also read the abstract and intro if you would like, although 
we won't discuss those until later on in the course (if at all).
