Edward Gibson's Teaching |
|
I teach graduate and undergraduate courses in Comparative Politics, Democratization, Latin American Politics, Federalism, and U.S.-Latin American relations. In 2003 I was made the Charles Deering McCormick Professor of Teaching Excellence, a three-year endowed chair that is the highest university-wide teaching award at Northwestern. Prior to that I had won several teaching awards, including the College of Arts and Sciences "E. Leroy Hall Teaching Excellence Award," as well as the Department of Political Science's "Barry Farrell Teaching Award." My teaching has also been supported by external funders, most notably the National Science Foundation, whose 1998 CAREER Award provided financial support to integrate undergraduate and graduate teaching with research activities.
