Airport:
The best airport to use is Chicago's O'Hare airport (ORD), but Chicago Midway is another option. The drive from
ORD to the hotel takes about 40 min.
Here are a few ground transportation options (these options also apply for Midway but cost $10-25 more):
-
Pre-arrange a taxi: Call in advance or from the airport after you land and
are ready to go.
Evanston taxi companies generally offer lower flat rates
(e.g., 303 cab, 847-303-0303, $32 from ORD, $55 from Midway).
The cab will meet you in the pick-up zone, 2nd curb outside on the lower level.
-
Pick up a cab in the taxi line at the airport (lower level, 1st curb). The rate is
higher (e.g., $40 from ORD) because Chicago cabs can't pick up passengers in Evanston, so afterwards the
cab has to go back to Chicago without a fare.
-
Call Al Mitchell in advance at A&M Limo/Towncar service at (847) 366-7143 or (866) 612-7123 and
arrange car service. This costs more ($45 from ORD, $55 from Midway), but
Al is a good guy and will drive safely and take good care of you.
After setting up the ride, call when you're ready to be picked up and the car
will meet you in the pick-up zone, 2nd curb outside on the lower level.
- The "El" train is not recommended from ORD to Evanston, but from Midway it is an option.
- Pace bus 250 from ORD kiss-and-fly (take airport tram first, then ~1-hr trip, stops 2 blocks from hotel, $1.75, check schedule).
